Introduction

I'm trying a new approach this month. Given that I have a tendency to be tardy, I will treat the newsletter as a work in progress, and update it on the site as I go. Then, at the end of the month I will send out a text version, that also points to the HTML version on the site. That should catch everyone.

I included myself in my mailing list, under a separate address, and discovered that Hotmail sent it directly to my junk folder. So you may need to add chrishbw@hotmail.com to your address book, to receive this newsletter.

And I learnt that with Bravenet's mailing list, you need to have your own dedicated unsubscribe page, offering the unsubscribe option. It just doesn't happen automatically like Fr33Autobot. So this month, we have one.

And you've probably noticed a few pseudo-spelling mistakes so far. I am now using a free ezine checker service called EzineCheck. I will provide the link in the tech section. But basically I have gone through this ezine with a fine tooth comb to replace words that would have triggered email filters and stopped it from getting it sent to you. You know, ca$h, fr33 and a few other words.

And finally, there were a few comments about my website colours. Hey, you should see my house - the walls are a bright yellow called "cheesy grin". My youngest said it always cheers him up, so my colour sense must run in the family. I did remove the green column early April, but after more comments when my site got reviewed in the Membership Exchange, I promise to tone down the fuchsia/pink.

Fr33bies

I'm pretty pleased to be able to give you this ebook entitled "How to earn $72,000 without a product", again courtesy of Graham Hamer. This link will give you access to the ebook: WithoutAProduct. Happy reading. It took me ages to find a decent book that had free reseller rights.

Marketing and Tech Tips

Surely the minute I mentioned WorldWideScam, it disappeared from the web. All the pointers were still there on Google, so the site just physically disappeared. But it came back after 2 weeks, the victim of a deliberate denial-of-service attack. But as a precaution, here are some other excellent places to go to see if your new program has a good or bad reputation:
MLMWatchDog.com
MLMWatch.org
www.sec.gov/investor/pubs/cyberfraud.htm

EzineCheck is the program I used to ensure this ezine gets past your mail filters. It is very easy to use. And it stops me from being too effusive.

I visited Emailaddresses.com forum to see which were the most popular email accounts. The favourite fr33 email accounts seemed to be:
FastMail.fm
www.MyRealBox.com

Favourite paid email accounts seemed to be:
FastMail
RunBar
OddPost

I have just started using FastMail and MyRealBox, and they seem to work quite well.

In terms of paid email accounts for using with safelists, Yuhknow and YourNetSource are often mentioned. Next month I will be working heavily with Safelists, so stay tuned.

I still like the award winning Ad-Aware, by Lavasoft, as an easy-to-use spyware detector, but occasionally it does miss things. Another well-spoken-of program is Search & Destroy, at S&D. I tried it, and am very impressed. It found a lot more spyware programs that Ad-Aware had missed, and even nicer, provides a description of each suspect item, to help you decide whether or not to delete the item. Definitely worth using.

Updates on my search engine progress:
- Google is still not listing me, even though it has indexed and linked me, so it will take until mid May for the next real update. MSN,AOL, AlltheWeb were nice enough to include me. Exactseek ranked my #7 for the keyword "work from home Australia".
- The Google ToolBar does not work with Crazybrowser. You have to go to plain IE for that, to see a site's ranking.
- Mikes Marketing Tools provides great fr33 link and popularity checkers, at Mikes-Marketing-Tools.com.
- MarketLeap has similar fr33 tools at Tools.marketleap.com
- To improve my rankings, I will have to rename some internal page names, and change the dreaded work "links" to "resources". Google really does not like "link farms". I'm also hoping it wasn't a missing apostrophe that caused Google to be slow in picking me up. Another 6 weeks....... Now I understand why people use pay-per-clicks until their site gets picked up.
- Exactseek has similar tools at www.exactseek.com/srank.html. I think I like them - they ranked me #1 for Home Business World.

Business Program Changes

I've added Cognigen to the Business Page. Cognigen has a great reputation on the forums, and I was considering joining it anyway, when a new subscriber, Barbara, gave me her link. It goes to prove that signing people up is a mix of: being in the right place at the right time and constant advertising. When you're ready, you're ready.

I've added BigCoop to the back section. Their blurb: Get Ca$h Rebates on your purchases at over 2000 stores and ca$h rewards on those you refer...for Life...and it's all FR3E. It's new, so their success is unproven, but the owner has a lot of personal details and history on his site, including a multi-page personal photo history of his life. It you signup from the link, it still doesn't seem to save the referral details, so here is mine: CR301211. The full referral link is Big Co-op. Shops in the co-op include J.C. Penny, WalMart, OfficeDepot, Disney, Hallmark, E-Bay, and Nordstrom’s and more. international. And it doesn't cost anything.

Paid Email/Survey/Surf Changes

OK, I've added a heap of survey programs to the Get-Paid section. Too many to type here - you have to go to the site for this. But I have received at least 3 invitations to surveys this month to date.

Every day I go to EmailCash to do their daily survey, to earn credits for fr33 advertising. And I also visit SpiderMetrix each week to do their weekly surveys.

With Paid Emails, I am currently concentrating on higher-paid emails, given that the same effort is expended whether you read a 0.05cent email as a 5.0cent email. It may take longer to payout, but a larger payout is better than a small one. The highest paying sites on my paid-mail page are for AYS, Jays and Mikes. I am also currently trialling KitKatCash, and Trinity's Treasure, also relatively high-paying sites that started in February and April, whose owners have had a good presence on getpaidforum.com. My link is Trinitys Treasure.
